Winchester House Wedding, London

When Gemma and Julius told me of their plans to get wed in an intimate ceremony in Richmond at 1 Spring Terrace, and hold their wedding party afterwards at the fab Winchester House Wedding venue I was super excited!

London weddings always have a certain vibe to them, which is great fun to be immersed in and to capture.  The day started out with Gemma enjoying a relaxed getting ready session with her sisters, girlfriends and parents.  It was lovely to feel the excitement of all in the house, especially since Gemma’s mum had designed and made Gemma’s wedding dress (…not to mention she also single handedly crafted the bridal bouquet, bridesmaids bouquets, button holes, floral hair pieces, corsages and table decorations! I’m sure there was more that I’ve forgotten! hehe).  The dress design was top secret, in that only Gemma and her mum knew what it looked like!  How special and gorgeous is that….and the dress itself looked stunning on Gemma as you can see!
There were so many lovely moments during the day, and Winchester House served as the perfect backdrop for it all.  Guests were able to sip champagne on the terrace, with the River Thames as their vista…doesn’t get much better than that hey for a London wedding!  The stand out ‘thing’ of the day for me though, has to be their unique idea of having the lovely Clarice Holt there as an Illustrator/Scribe to capture the flavour of their day in the most quirky and fabulous way.  Using key moments and dittos from the day and speeches, she created the most wonderful keep sake I’ve ever seen….it was awesome!  Go see for yourself at the end of the post…every wedding should have a Clarice hehe!
