Well in-case you’ve been wondering why I’ve been so quiet lately…it’s been because I’ve spent most of every minute of every day preparing for this…the National Wedding Show….I’ve quite literally been living, eating, sleeping and dreaming it…!!! I have to say it was a strange mixture of emotions on Friday morning when I stood back and managed at last to admire my stand….seeing my vision for my brand, all come together in front of me like that was very satisfying!!!
I can’t begin to tell you the effort and hours that every little detail took, as it is impossible to explain……just seeing it all there, knowing how much love and effort had gone into it all, was surprisingly emotional though.
Now, at the risk of sounding like some kind of cheesy Oscar-esque type speech, I have a few public thank yous I want to make…hehe!
Firstly, I have to start with a MASSIVE hug and much love to my long suffering husband these past few weeks, who did so much I can’t even begin to list it…!!! Also, a HUGE thankyou to my mother in law and father in law who painstakingly cut and tied pretty much every single piece of ribbon around my 1000+ leaflets….and all the other bits that went into that (anyone who knows me knows it was not just a simple leaflet! oh no!!! hehe), and the rest including the mad dash at the eleventh hour to save the stand (you know what you did…!!! hehe). Ditto to my brother in law and sister in law…! And finally, big hugs to my friends Emily and Martin who helped out on the stand and behind the scenes to again, make everything run so smoothly….! (Emily the 6.5 hour car journey home on Saturday night was one I will never forget and a true bonding experience – hehe!).
Ooooh and another few thanks to my lovely ‘stand-neighbours’ who made the whole show a truly enjoyable experience – the wonderfully talented singer and thoroughly lovely guy Andy Johnson, the gorgeous Liz and Matt from Think White Review and Hummingbird Bakery for sharing your delicious Cupcakes at the end of each day! Also, lovely to see a few of my future ‘bride to be’s’ there – Nikki, Natalie, Claire and Gayle…hope you got some fab inspiration for your wedding day!
And last but not least, HUGE thanks to all you lovely people who took the time to stop, look and chat to me – oooh and of course those of you who decided to book me….! You made the whole experience worthwhile
Ooooh, and keep your eyes peeled for the finalists of my WIN your DESTINATION WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY competition (entrees only accepted at the NWS itself) – to be announced shortly!!! They need your help to win….

Last Wednesday marked the 1st ever ‘official’ Rock n Roll Bride Kick Ass party…and it certainly rocked, with approx 100 awesome alternative Wedding suppliers from all over the UK (and even some from South Africa!) all gathered at the funky Meza Bar, London. Brides if you have not ever seen Kat’s Rock n Roll Bride blog, mozie on over right now (well after reading this and checking out my pics…!), I can highly recommend it as a source of inspiration for planning your unique and funky wedding…Kat celebrates all things charming and unique to do with weddings – basically there are no rules, only those you make – something I always say to my Brides and Grooms – it’s your day, so make sure you do it your way!
It has to be said that Kat looked absolutely amazing in her very cool skull tiara, and of course her trademark pink hair (…yes, I have pink hair envy…!), and fab outfit – with enough chic bling to give SATC girls a run for their money! There were too many awesome people there to mention individually – lots of photographers (of course…many of them very camera shy I noticed too….!!!), Wedding & Event planners, Cake makers (check out the lovely Charlotte’s Restoration Cake cupcakes below – and yes they tasted as good as they look!), Vintage Frock Specialists (big love to the gorgeous and very talented Laura & Emma from Fur Coat No Knickers), Stationery Designers (you have to check out the gorgeous Lucy Ledger’s designs…simply cuteness itself!), Jewellers, but to name a few. As far as networking parties go, this was the best, and as you can see from the pics everyone had a fab time. As the official pap for the night, I had loads of fun snapping away, managing to have some brief chats with some very talented people…sadly I didn’t get to talk to everyone, but hopefully next time! Until then, enjoy my pics and look forward to meeting you again…I’m always up for a coffee, so feel free to get in touch to arrange a meet!
I’ve got a feeling this won’t be the last of the Rock n Roll Bride bashes…next time, bigger and better….is it possible Kat?!?!

It may well sound sad, but I have been super excited this week about the arrival of my 2 new PRIME lenses…..professional range Canon 35mm f1.4 and 85mm f1.2! It’s been almost as exciting as when my gorgeous new Vivienne Westwood shoes turned up the other week – yes, I’ve surprised myself by admitting that these babies are up there with some of my most prized shoes!
I already have a wide range of fantastic lenses, and these primes complete my kit (well, for now….!
). You may wonder why I’m telling you this…afterall, it’s not quite as exciting as shoes, dresses, cupcakes, or diamond rings – right?!? Well, you see in a way they are – as the way I see it, it is really important that I give you, my clients, the very best images – and to do this I only use the very best Canon professional lenses and equipment. These lenses will enable me to create some super gorgeous images…and I can’t wait to show you what I mean!
