Wedding: Kim & Chris: i do ~ Villa Baroncino, Umbria, Italy

I have to confess to having a bit of a love affair with Italy….my hubbie and I got engaged there, and so I guess it holds a special kind of place within me. It is beautiful, romantic, vibrant and exciting. So, when I found out that Kim and Chris’ wedding was to be held in Umbria I was hopping and skipping with joy, as it was a part of Italy I’d been longing to visit….my visions were of spectacular scenery composed of rows and rows of Olive trees and dancing smiling yellow Sunflowers…the reality was all that bar the shiny happy dancing sunflowers due to the time of year (August), but nonetheless it was everything I’d hoped for and more!

So, after a short hop across the Channel it was wonderful to see Kim and Chris’ smiling excited faces when we pulled up at Villa Baroncino, after only having recently seen them a few weeks before for their engagement shoot in Regents Park, London…I felt very blessed to be there with them to capture their celebrations and had to admit to having to pinch myself a little by the gorgeousness of Villa Baroncino and Umbria. When we discussed their vision for their wedding many months before, the main focus was about being relaxed and enjoying time with their families and friends….and on arrival at the Villa, I could see that it was the perfect place for this to happen as their guests were able to stay there and make the most of the scenery and the pool before and after the wedding – my kinda wedding!

With Chris’ family being Italian and Kim’s English, it was lovely to see the fusion of English-Italian traditons come together on the day….one in particular which I loved was that Kim’s mother-in-law to be made her Bridal bouquet and the design was kept secret and presented to her on arrival at the Ceremony….by Chris – such a beautiful moment…the significance of which was really touching. The Ceremony itself was held in Cortona Town Hall, and if you ever get the chance it’s a place well worth visiting….a gorgeous little town on the top of a hill (…although it was a nightmare getting my gear up there! hehe). Afterwards we had fun with Kim and Chris’ Portrait shoot in and around the town….such vibrant colours to play with! Following this the new Mr & Mrs enjoyed the free flowing Prosecco and delicious Italian canapes served under the sunshine and blue skies next to the pool (I only contemplated diving in for a dip once or twice! hehe), accompanied by the sounds of violins playing – it really was beautiful. The relaxed vibe continued well into the evening, with a 6 course meal (which I have very fond memories of still….! hehe), interspersed with lots of chatter and laughter. The perfect day for a perfect couple!

I know I’ve said this before, but it really is truly so exciting to be featured on Love My Dress Blog – I truly love what Annabel does with her fabulous blog and I see the effects of her inspiration in many a wedding that I am happily blessed to shoot :)

Alicia and Adam’s wedding was in the most magical of destinations which was wonderful, but what made it truly captivating for me was the love shared between them and their family and friends. It was the perfect relaxed day full of fun, love, light and lots of laughter…just the kind of wedding that make my heart skippidy skip….click here to see why….!

* the wonderful Jade who designed and crafted the amazing invite and all decorative elements of the wedding breakfast (names on chairs, table plan, tags for fans, etc) – not only was she a beautiful Bridesmaid, she is one very talented lady and is available to all you lovely forthcoming brides…so if you want to know more about what she could design for your wedding then go see www.handmadebyjade.net
* the all round great guy and talented Photographer Jon Mold who came all the way of to Lake Como to 2nd shoot for me and did a superb job capturing Adam and the boys in the morning and all making their way to Villa Balbianello, not to mention his support throughout the day with light reflector, flash ranger and his ’80s bum bag – hehe (Jon you know I’m joking…and I was very impressed with the amount of bits and bobs you carried on you all day in the sweltering heat! RESPECT!)
* and last but not least my truly gorgeous and long suffering husband Paul who did so much I can’t even list it all….chauffeur, navigator, bag carrier, water and food fetcher, masseur…and so so much more!!! I couldn’t have done it without you ;-)

And now enough of that…just go see this gorgeous pair get wed…. {Adam and Alicia thank you for choosing me to capture your wonderful Wedding and I wish you heaps of happiness together on your next chapter xxx}
