Trafalgar Tavern Wedding

The summer time saw me return to one of my favourite venues to photograph a Trafalgar Tavern Wedding.  I’ve been fortunate to be chosen to capture a few lovely weddings here, and I really think it’s a fabulous venue and location for a relaxed wedding – it’s quirky elegance gives the feel of a country house, but you look out of the window and with the view of the City and Millennium Dome you’re most definitely on the River Thames – quite some backdrop to your wedding day and pretty magical by night . Rebecca and James’ wedding day was relaxed from the start, with Rebecca choosing to get ready at home with her Mum and Sister – the closeness they share was hugely apparent and a joy to both capture and be around…as was their super cute bunny hehe!  The church they chose to marry in, St Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, Blackheath, was literally across the road and around the corner from their flat, so Rebecca and her Mum walked to the church where she met her very proud Dad.  James spent the morning with his family and friends – many of whom travelled from Ireland to share in the joy of the day.  Afterwards they made their way to the Trafalgar Tavern by vintage London Routemaster buses, and enjoyed a champagne reception with their family and friends.  We took some time out from the party to capture some beautiful bride and groom portraits in the surrounding area – I always really enjoy this special time as it’s usually the only time on the day that the Bride and Groom relax together alone and take some time to just ‘be’.  The result is always special as it captures the couple for who they are and what they mean to each other – it’s a part of the day I am hugely privileged to share and to document. As the sun set on the Thames, the dance floor lit up with the most fantastic talented local Irish band rocking the tavern…the craic was fab, much laughter was shared and I’m pretty sure many a muscle was pulled! hehe Rebecca and James, as they say in Ireland to newly weds…   May God be with you and bless you.
